Living Yoga, Living Awareness
Where ancient wisdom meets modern clarity. We guide seekers to discover the harmony of body, breath, and being – one conscious step at a time
Our Philosophy: Yoga as a Way of Being
At Indian Yoga Retreat, yoga is more than movement, it’s a path to awareness, balance, and harmony. Rooted in the timeless traditions of India, we believe every practice, from asana and meditation to sound and breath is a journey toward the Self. Our approach blends depth with accessibility, helping you reconnect with your body, calm the mind, and awaken inner stillness. We teach authentic yoga ‘as it is’, so that each student experiences its essence in daily life beyond the mat, beyond the moment.
Grounded in tradition. Guided by awareness.
Meet Your Teachers

Amitesh Kothari
– Goa Retreat
Warm, steady, and humble in his approach, Yogi Amitesh guides retreats along Agonda’s peaceful surroundings. Holding a Master’s in Yoga and Sound Healing Certification, he teaches yoga as a quiet, internal practice, not as performance or pressure. His classes focus on: understanding each posture, adapting the practice to each person, and developing awareness that naturally leads to strength and calm. Over 10 years of teaching across retreats, workshops, and teacher trainings, his intention has always remained the same: to offer authentic access to yoga, gently and sincerely. His Shala in nature allows students to learn at a relaxed, unhurried pace.
“Practice clearly, breathe slowly, understand deeply, the rest unfolds.”
Dr. Anupam Kothari
– Rishikesh Retreat
Known for his friendly presence and thoughtful teaching style, Yogi Anupam brings depth through both modern yoga therapy knowledge and traditional yogic wisdom. He holds a PhD and Master’s in Yoga and has over a decade of experience helping individuals with physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing through therapeutic yogic practices. He aims to shift how yoga is understood: from just postures, to self-understanding, healing, and inner rebalancing. His classes are insightful, structured, and compassionate, creating a space where learning feels natural and personal.
“Yoga is not about changing yourself, it is about gently returning to your natural state of balance.”
